I don't have any kind of schedule, and I just stream when I feel like it.

Yes. I used to stream on Twitch. But since they brought in mandatory pre-stream ads it's killed my channel, and streaming has since then been no longer fun. I also can't play copyrighted music, so it ends up being a bit of a drag for me since I can't listen to anything good. Picarto just doesn't seem to care about music or even video.

I used to enjoy browsing the front page frequently and liking all the nice art I'd come across, and there was a lot of fetish crap as to be expected from this "esteemed website for the art connoisseurs", but with the advent of AI "Image generation", it's all gotten much much worse.

Now accounts with Core and Plus and Prime all vomit mountain loads of out fetishy swill 24/7.

To the point where it's unpleasant to squint past the oversized posteriors and swollen bellies to see something hand-made by someone with talent and skill that they've been keenly developing for years. I have to spend time looking the image over for the tell-tale signs of an AI generated fake (because as if the submitter will admit that it's AI generated...)

Normally I would be favouriting multiple submissions every day, but now I'll barely find one piece that I like per day.

And with Deviant Art's policies (or lack-thereof) for accurate tagging of submissions, it's impossible to filter any of it out. Not only has the "Show Less of This" option NEVER once worked (the very same image that I would have clicked that on will still appear in the feed after a refresh), but nothing is ever tagged. I must be one of the very few people that bothers to tag their submissions.

Looking at how the situation has developed, Deviant Art is willing to embrace AI generated images at the expense of real artists, and muddy the waters with more content, rather than quality content. Number go up, and that's all they care about. More numbers, more clicks, more money.

The worst part is this is still the website where I get the most engagement, out of FurAffinity, e621, and Instagram.

So, what will I do?

I will probably de-list the Deviant Art main page from my bookmarks, and switch it to just my profile. I will still upload whenever I have something I want to share.

Essentially I will stop browsing other people's art unless I'm already watching them, and I really haven't watched more than a small handful of artists.

There isn't much you can do. I've seen it all before.

Userbase gets annoyed when a website does something shitty, and nothing happens. The users get bored of being angry and go back to using the website.

The only thing you can do to make a meaningful difference to your experience, is to think about how you use a website, and decide if you would be better off switching to an alternative, or changing how you use that website so you can have a better experience. Because the website just isn't going to change to suit your needs. No matter how much you protest or try to break the algorithm.

They're going to change to improve their profits. Deviant Art isn't any different.
